Army Experience Center in Philadelphia to close
It was only a year and a half ago when we reported on the US Army’s new Army Experience Center, an interactive setup that sought to bring a new twist to how the US Army is branding itself for the 21st century. It’s been announced that the center will now close after two years of operation, with the idea having been declared a “success” for what they were trying to do. In addition to a large LAN center area they also featured a number of high-end simulators to try and give visitors a “unique insight into the life of a soldier.”
The Army is still looking at taking the concept to other areas of the US so this won’t be the last time we’ll be hearing about the idea. I wonder if the price tag could be a factor here however as this one was a $12 million project (which of course is a steal compared to many other US government projects) and who knows if that might delay other centers from opening.
