Incredible Technologies: Thousands of players competing this summer for $10,000 in Bowlapalooza

June 10, 2009

Incredible Technologies has announced the beginning of their Bowlapalooza summer tournament on Silver Strike Bowling 2009 and if one thing is certain, it’s that there are plenty of people out there who will compete for cash and if they know about arcade games that do it, they will play. And play they did, IT has a total of 4,482 players who have qualified for the competition which runs throughout the summer and culminates in an “Encore” showdown in August and each month qualified players can win cash. The May opener has come and gone with one player, Ron Hammersley pocketing $1000. More details on the tournament can be found in the press release after the jump.

Golden Tee goes to the lotto

April 15, 2009

We all know that one of the best ways for a company to survive in a downturn is to keep your name and product visible to the public with effective marketing and there are many ways to go about doing that. Incredible Technologies has come up with an interesting idea for promoting their Golden Tee series – by having a state issue a Golden Tee themed lottery ticket. Apparently the state of Illinois has done this before and now South Carolina is follwing their lead by issuing a $2 scratch-off ticket where one person could win up to $20,000. Where SC is a major state for golfing this seems to be a wise choice for target marketing – I wonder if we will see any other arcade games show up in similar marketing campaigns in the future.

On top of this, I nearly missed a story where IT is beginning a new phase in their Silver Strike Bowling online efforts with the Bowlapalooza series of tournaments this summer. The Bowlapalooza tournaments will begin in May and IT will be awarding thousands of dollars in prizes throughout the entire summer to the top 200 SSB players and this certainly will make SSB online games a hot item in many locations over the next few months. More details are contained in the press release after the break.

Incredible Technologies announces SSB Sweepstakes, will give away bigger prizes

December 19, 2008

In these troubled times that we hear and see so much about lately, there are some good reasons to head over to your local arcade place which has online enabled games because competition in this arena is starting to heat up.  In the latest press release from Incredible Technologies, they are throwing down the gauntlet by making the announcement about increasing the prizes for Silver Strike Bowling online by 50% next year, while keeping the fees for operators unchanged. That’s pretty bold move considering the perceived and real state of the economy, but business is about taking risks and making bold moves, even when the going is tough. According to the release, the typical monthly prize is going to raise from $5000 to $7500 and they are getting rid of the ten $100 weekly winner prizes and are replacing that with one $1000 winner per week. If you feel like you need a ‘bailout’ of sorts, then it looks like online arcade competition gaming is going to be a good place to look for it.

Three Silver Strike Bowling players win big prizes in time for Thanksgiving

December 3, 2008

This was meant to have been posted on Thanksgiving (last Thursday for the US) but I overlooked the mail then but figured that even though I’m almost a week late, it’s still worth posting. Despite the state of the gaswinnereconomy here and elsewhere, arcade companies continue to hold national online tournaments where players can win some pretty big prizes. This comes from Incredible Technologies in reference to the Silver Strike Bowling 2009 tourneys where “three average people became superstars for a day because they play Silver Strike Bowling”. The press release after the break contains the full story but they have recently awarded a total of $25,000 in prizes, which is nothing to sneeze at.

Silver Strike Bowling Jeep Sweepstakes video

July 29, 2008

A while back I remember that we posted about a contest involving the arcade title Silver strike Bowling 2009 where they were giving away a jeep as the grand prize but I missed out on the details of how that turned out. Fortunately a video was recently posted to youtube that covers how that went down, check it out below (thanks to Incredible Technologies for pointing this out). It’s pretty crazy that she hadn’t really played Silver Strike before and made it as the grand prize winner – that’s a nice jeep too, more kudos out to IT for giving away some awesome prizes like this.

Silver Strike Bowling 2009 National Championship begins

April 16, 2008

In what is considered to be the largest video bowling tournament ever, qualifying for the Silver Strike Bowling National Championship has begun today, with $100,000 in total prizes on the line. With the potential for 800 winners, this gives a lot of people a chance at winning a cash prize from IT and on top of that if one is good enough(and plays enough) you can make it to the Regional Leaderboards and maybe a trip to Vegas for one final showdown. From the SSB Championship page:

Capped off by a 32-person event at the Kingpin Suite of the Palms Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas, the National Championship will captivate, enthrall and fuel players across the country as they try to strike and spare their way to stardom.

And what’s at stake is nothing less than immortality. Eight bowlers from four regions will prove through a six-week qualifier that they have the skill and determination to be called a champion. They’ll receive a trip to Las Vegas, Silver Strike Bowling apparel and gear, invitations to exclusive parties and at least a $1,000 slice of the $100,000 purse – one of the largest prize pots in video game history!

Keep in mind that this is only for SSB2009 and not the previous version 07 and you need to get an SSB players card so you have an ID to follow, which the game will ask for if you select the Bowler’s Menu in the game. Cards should be sold by the operator that has the game and I believe you can also buy them direct from IT, but I’m not sure how. The qualifying event ends on May 31st and to qualify you need to play 100 games. It’s too bad that I’m still not open yet with my arcade like I should be, as I’d jump on this in a heartbeat as an operator. The site below has more details and also national leaderboards.

Incredible Technologies gearing up for their largest coin-op sweepstakes ever

April 9, 2008

One aspect about coin-op game creator Incredible Technologies that I have always liked are the sweepstakes that they run with their various games, from Golden Tee to Silver Strike Bowling and even to Bags. Probably the best part about the giveaways is that they aren’t forgettable thanks to some of the great prizes they give to players in addition to fairly large cash prizes that are given out throughout the sweepstakes. For this reason I would like an IT game in my arcade – even though they focus more on the bar scene I think that it works for regular arcade operators as well. The sweepstakes give something for players to look forward to and talk about when away from the arcade.

Starting next week, Incredible Technologies will launch their largest sweepstakes ever, in accordance with the release of the new Silver Strike Bowling 2009. They will also be re-launching the ITs website that will offer new features for operators. Here is a video showing off two winners that got brand new Harley Davidson’s from the last sweepstakes and stay tuned as we find out more.

Silver Strike Bowling Sweepstakes video

February 16, 2008

I really have to hand it to Incredible Technologies – since not every arcade or bar can be relied on to hold arcade game competitions, they’ve taken it upon themselves to run some great sweepstakes that drums up interest in both arcade games as well as IT’s own offerings. Now it’s true that they are not the only ones  doing this – Raw Thrills’/Play Mechanix/Betson has done some pretty high profile competitions for Big Buck Hunter that we’ve reported about in the past, it seems that the difference between the two companies is in the frequency of the competitions. Either way I don’t believe it matters who is doing it as long as any company takes the initiative to market their game in this manner, which highlights the strengths of the arcade social scene. Here is a video from  user SilverStrikeBowling that highlights a recent Silver Strike bowling sweepstake where the winner got tickets to the Super Bowl. That’s probably the best thing I’ve seen out of these competitions – they give away good prizes and not throw away crap. I should also point out our recent news of Silver Strike Bowling 2009 where IT promises even more cash prizes along some more big stuff.
