Looking for some arcades to buy in the San Fransisco area? Check out the TILT

December 31, 2009

So it’s not really news that a TILT location has their games on sale – every time I have visited a TILT location, they always have something on sale. But things are slow enough that I am going to mention this anyways – game blog Destructoid is highlighting some of the games that are for sale at the TILT in San Fransisco. They have some cool games that are currently available: Dark Legacy, Star Wars Trilogy, Silent Scope, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike, War: Final Assault, Dual Stacker, Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, Vapor TRX and others. Hit the link below to check it out.

Dave and Busters looking to reduce debt and exploring a sale?

February 21, 2008

Fox Business reports that the arcade restaurant chain Dave and Busters has retained Jefferies & Company to reduce it’s debt and explore a possible sale of the company. According to the CEO of the company Steve King “The decision to engage Jefferies & Company and reduce debt is a direct result of our continued strong comparable store sales growth, substantial earnings growth and significant free cash flow generation”. In other words the company has been doing well despite slightly rough economic circumstances. Dave & Busters is one of the largest arcade chains in the US and combines a restaurant and bar with the arcade element – a little like Chuck E. Cheese’s but geared towards adults. If the company is sold off, it’s hard to say if things will change drastically for the company but it’s good to point out that in the press release they say that they experienced a strong 4th quarter – despite factors that other companies seem to have a difficult time with such as the Nintendo Wii.

Arcade Flyer Archives up for sale in 2008

October 14, 2007

Found something interesting while looking through one of my news site scanners – the curator of The Arcade Flyer Archive is going to be selling off a huge portion of his collection to continue paying for his great site. The flyers will be going for $1 a piece and will be available next year. The flyers will include video arcade, pinball and other amusement-related flyers and all of them are in good to excellent condition. This is a great opportunity to pick up some great flyers for a great price. I’ll have to try and get a few for my arcade as decorations.
