Midwest Gaming Classic coming next week, with more arcade goodness and Bill Paxton Pinball!

March 18, 2010

This is just a friendly reminder for many gamers out there that the Midwest Gaming Classic is upon us, with the show coming up on March 27th (a Saturday) and the 28th. As usual they will have a number of arcade games to play there (in addition to a large assortment of console gaming) and among the unique arcade-related games you’ll find is one of Ben Heck’s recent projects, Bill Paxton Pinball (which as far as I know, is not being picked up by Stern) which we discussed a little while ago.

Also it’s important to note that Eugene Jarvis (owner of Raw Thrills’ as as you know, maker of many great games from the 80’s up to today) will be speaking there and Play Mechanix, Raw Thrills’ and Stern Pinball are sponsors of the event so I imagine they willb e showing off some new product there as well.

You can get the full rundown on what to expect here, at the Midwest Gaming Classic website.

Videos from the Midwest Gaming Classic 2009 event

April 14, 2009

[Thanks to John Norman for sending us the info]

For those of us that couldn’t make it to Midwest Gaming Classic, we can always drool over videos taken by those who could. I am determined to make it to this event one year, I just hope that it will be sooner rather than later. The first video has most of the arcade goodness, but you can find some arcade stuff in the other two vids as well. 🙂

Midwest Gaming Classic 2009 fast approaching!

March 9, 2009

Another great event which will have a prominent display of arcade gaming goodness is fast approaching, where this time it is the famous Midwest Gaming Classic. In addition to tons of classic gaming consoles and PCs (about 200 will be at the show) they also will have over 125 arcade and pinball machines set on free play for the public. There is more to it beyond all that which you can read about in the press release after the break but this is one event I’d love to visit one day where I love classic gaming, whether it’s on arcades or consoles.

Midwest Gaming Classic will take place on the 21st & 22nd of this month and it’s only $15 for admission on Sat. and $10 on Sunday. Kids under 12 get in free too, which is a really nice deal.
