House of the Dead 2 & 3 Confirmed for Wii

November 18, 2007

Now this one we all saw coming a mile off. I can picture it now in the Sega boardroom…

So we’ve done Ghost Squad for Wii, what other lightgun arcade games can we port over to the Wii….. hmmmmmmmm?

A bit of a no brainer really.

Personally I’m really looking forward to this and looks like it could be excellent value as it will include HOTD 2 & 3 plus lots of extra new features. All I have to say is it better have HOTD 1 as a hidden unlockable!

Wii Arcade Stick

November 12, 2007

For all those negative people out there that claim the arcade is dead, maybe they should keep in mind that every games consoles that comes out, ends up with an “arcade stick” peripheral, still the finest controller known to man (I’m not biased, honest). The latest being the Nintendo Wii. With all those great VC games, as well as stuff like Metal Slug and the new Soul Calibur coming soon, this will make a perfect addition to the wildly popular Wii.

Ghost Squad (Wii) Japanese Trailer

September 13, 2007

After watching this video it looks as though Ghost Squad for the Wii is exactly the same as the arcade version, the only new addition is some 4 player Point Blank style target shooting games, I’m not sure whether the 4 player mode has made it over to the mission part of the game. Also I’m hoping there will be some extra mission on top of the arcade ones but we will have to wait and see.

Also a preview of the game has just been posted up on Eurogamer, which doesn’t answer my above questions, but does give you a good insight in to how the game is being received by the consumer gaming press.

Sega Announces Ghost Squad and Wii Zapper Bundle

August 6, 2007

wii-zapper-top.jpg

Sega has not only announced that Ghost Squad for the Wii will be released on October 25th in Japan, but also that it will also be available as a bundle with the Wii Zapper (apparently, you can also purchase the game without the Zapper). There doesn’t seem to be any official word as to whether or not this will also be the case in America or elsewhere. At E3 2007, Nintendo of America announced that the Zapper will be packaged with an as yet unannounced first-party game for $20 USD.
