Street Fighter IV PC Dilemma

July 13, 2009

So I picked this up on release a few weeks ago. I’d been waiting for the PC release because I have an X-Arcade stick and was looking forward to having the “arcade experience” at home. Much to my dismay, it appears SF4 only supports keyboard and 360 controllers.  I can assign keyboard buttons to the arcade stick for one player, but not for the other.

Apparently they want to make recreating the arcade set up at home harder than it should be.  In a way I can see why, otherwise it will be quite easy to take a high end PC and build your own cabinet. However this is not want I’m going too. So Capcom, please release a patch and support non 360 arcade sticks, please? Especially my X-Arcade stick!

Mini Football Table

November 4, 2008

Oh my god, I may have said this before but this is by far the coolest thing I’ve ever seen.

Your partner won’t let you have a football table in the house because they take up so much room huh? Well here’s the answer to your dilemma. High price tag, but how can you resist? The frame work for the glass even look like a stadium structure, awesome!

My new favourite home arcade

September 2, 2008

Beer and games. They go hand in hand right? Well what do you do when you want to combine your too favourite past times? You do this….

That’s right, you build a bar for the beer and then you build arcade controls into the bar. Simple really.

Retro Space pays homage to Computer Space

August 18, 2008

Yeah, yeah yeah, another home arcade cabinet. This one however pays homage to a particular game known as Computer Space. It’s not completely identical to the 1970’s classic, but there’s enough there to evoke memories of Nolan Bushnell’s arcade game. Namely the bright yellow cabinet and the lady in white!

New Surface Tension table

July 17, 2008

For those of you who read the site way back when, you may remember a company called Surface Tension. They make, by far, the coolest home arcade tables you have ever seen. Well there is now a new model, which is soon to be available, and it looks good! Different enough from the previous model, but still discreet, this sexy new model comes in either a Oak or Walnut finish and has the classic Surface Tension fold out controls.

Home made Lindbergh cabinet

April 1, 2008

Now this is nice home made cabinet. I’ve always been a fan of the simplicity of Sega’s Lindbergh cabinet, but this guy has gone the whole hog to show his love for it. This thing houses a PC, 360 and a PS3. Hit the link to see how it was all put together.
