Crazy Streets – Thrill Drive

March 27, 2007

Crazy Streets is a part of Thrill Drive series, containing all the raw power and thrills of the series, but giving the customer more cars, more tracks and of course accidents and mayhem. The game has a similar feel to the originals, giving you the option of driving jeeps, station wagons or super charged sports cars. Players race through busy streets while trying to avoid obstacles and other traffic. If speed is your thing there are nitro boost power ups, but beware speed kills. If it becomes to much for you, you need to look for the parachute power down icons. The cabinet is also linkable up to 4 cabinets, for head to head action.

Konami @ ATEI 2007

January 29, 2007

Konami had a great stand, although that maybe because I’m a big Pro Evo Soccer fan. The arcade version is as solid as the console, but this is my only gripe with game. Why pay to play it it when I can play it on my 360 against my friends online for free. Still, it’s great fun to play. Also on the stand was Crazy Streets, which I’d already seen at the the Trocadero, which is a pretty standard street racing game, but again still good fun to play. Finally Konami had thier range of music based games including BeatMania, Guitar Freaks, and DrumMania which to be honest I was to scared to play because there was a bunch of the hardcore players there. So I was quite happy just to watch them do there thing. I think I got a video of one them on the BeatMania, which I’ll post up soon.

Crazy Streets Thrill Drive at the Trocadero

January 10, 2007

Found another new game down at the Trocadero today. A new one from Konami called Crazy Streets. The basic premise is that it’s a street racing game against other AI controlled cars, with various power ups to pick up whilst racing. From nitros, to speed ups, to parachutes that slow you down. So not all the picks ups are good which is makes things a bit more interesting. There was about a dozen cars to choose from, from pimped out racing cars to lorries, and theres about a dozen tracks to choose from. Cars and tracks are graded on difficulty; easy, medium and hard. It’s not a bad game overall, just plain good fun, only had a quid on me so excuse me for the lack of in depth info. Will try and get a bit more hands on with it at the ATEI.
