Tekken 6 clone cabinet emerges from China

Have you ever played Tekken 6 in an arcade? I have, and my experience taught me two things: firstly my friend is better with the capoeira characters than me, and secondly the cabinet is quite a lovely piece of work. The problem is, there are just too few of them in the world. What are we to do? The answer, possibly, is to get one of these clone cabinets from Guangzhou’s Unique Top Electronic. They’re designed to look quite close to the real thing, though they’re definitely not quite indistinguishable – details such as the red panels underneath the monitor give things away pretty quickly. Still, perhaps not a bad alternative if you’re in the market for such an item – and hey, it’s certainly easy to imagine that the demand is out there.

This isn’t a clone, it IS the real Tekken 6 cabinet. They are all manufactured in China; Namco simply redistributes this cabinet in Japan with the “Noir HD” branding/logo on top (the only aesthetic difference). The Japanese distribution of the Tekken 6 cabinet is identical right down to the red panels underneath the monitor:

    how much do these run?

  3. fubarduck: The Noir HD brand is definitely not the only aesthetic difference between the picture we have and the ones you posted, but your assertion that this is the real cabinet speaks volumes for the attention to detail on the clone. A quick rundown of differences I’ve spotted:

    – Red panels beneath the monitor are curved on UTE’s clone, but are flat on the official cabinet.

    – Light above monitor protrudes from the top of the UTE model, whereas it is fully integrated onto the panel of the official cabinet.

    – Curved slope on the top edge of the UTE monitor, compared to a flat slope of the official one.

    – UTE model has circular recesses between the controls and the red panels.

Fubarduck posted a different one, the one branded as Flyhigh, which is the “official” clone as it were, i.e. made with same panel/parts and only difference is some re-branding.

The UTE one is a clone, of a clone per se.

HeavyElectric & Celestein, sounds like you guys are right. I knew the Flyhigh panel cab (that I linked) was just a rebranded Noir HD, but I guess the UTE is actually a clone.
