Lord of the Rings Limited Edition Pinball pictures

December 16, 2009

While looking around the forums on Google, I caught a link to a photobucket account of some pictures showing off the new Lord of the Rings Limited Edition pinball machine. It’s been a little strange that we have heard/seen very little of this up until now but I guess that is due to the fact that the game is just started to make into the hands of collectors/distributors. Only 500 of these are being made and while this limited edition is lacking things like a couple of the figurines (since those figure are not made anymore), it still looks really cool. LOTR LE is already quite popular with fans, with many who consider the original to be the finest STERN made pinball ever, that alone is setting the game apart in our poll for the Pinball Game of the Year.

The 2009 Dance Dance Revolution Nationals get a recap; Ongaku Paradise tests in Japan

December 16, 2009

(thanks to Aaron Auzins for the tips)

Ever since it was first announced a few months ago, we have kept tabs here and there on Konami’s National DDR Championships that were held in different regions around the US. Those nationals are now complete and thankfully has a complete recap on what went right and what went wrong regarding those tournaments. Sadly, it appears that more went wrong than right but they did manage to forge ahead and complete everything in Las Vegas on the 5th of this month. According to Bemanistyle, the players felt that this competition overall was more of a head-ache than anything else; Konami however felt that it was successful and did state that another tournament will take place this year. I imagine that they will be looking at what went wrong this time and fix it so that players will feel more satisfied the next time around.

For all of the details, check out the full report at

Also, in regards to a new title that Konami is testing out in Japan, Aaron pointed me to another article at Bemanistyle about Ongaku Paradise, Konami’s attempt at trying out a music-based version of Quiz Magic Academy. You can read about that here.
