Found something interesting while looking through one of my news site scanners – the curator of The Arcade Flyer Archive is going to be selling off a huge portion of his collection to continue paying for his great site. The flyers will be going for $1 a piece and will be available next year. The flyers will include video arcade, pinball and other amusement-related flyers and all of them are in good to excellent condition. This is a great opportunity to pick up some great flyers for a great price. I’ll have to try and get a few for my arcade as decorations.

A look back at Preview '04

October 14, 2007

It is interesting to take a look back at earlier arcade events and see what has changed and what has stayed the same. Via Kevin Williams of the Stinger Report, he points out an article written about the London Preview ’04 and it is quite interesting to see how much has actually stayed the same – most games coming out are still focusing on what’s safe and guaranteed as opposed to new ideas although it was good to see a few new twists on old ideas this year that appear as though they may increase interest in arcade gaming. The Preview 04 featured the new Atomiswave system which many had hoped would have provided a new system like the NeoGeo MVS or Naomi but never enjoyed the same level of support as those previous systems.
