We’ve had a few posts recently on a new company that is joining the coin-op scene and once again they have another press release to share with the world. After revealing the licensing of Gottlieb pinball tables for their new MultiPin system, Nanotech is announcing that they have partnered up with Too Fun Inc., a distributor based in Dallas Texas that will carry their products
worldwide. So in case you were excited about seeing their new MultiPin with it’s recreated Gottlieb tables then you soon may find one. According to the release the product is ready to go now so I assume that within a few months we should have a good idea of how well this system will do and if it will leave UltraPin in the dust or not. At the very least it’s an important step for them as a coin-op company without a distributor is a little like a boat without water unless they are willing to undertake that particular challenge by themselves.
The release does indicate that there is more going on with Nanotech in relation to coin-op products so now we will wait and see if it’s another video pinball type table or a video arcade game. Hopefully if it is arcade-related, it isn’t another MAME-style system that will do for arcades what they are doing for pinball as in the past I have seen new startups do something like an official MAME machine and then don’t go anywhere beyond that. Don’t get me wrong, something like Arcade Legends is nice and all but we’ve seen it already and it would be nice to see a new company try out something other than a MAME type system for a change. At least Nanotech has started with a video pinball system which looks to be different enough and their business model of designing the technology and games and licensing them for a different company to manufacture is interesting as well so we’ll keep on waiting to see what’s next from them, with high hopes.
Hit the post break for the press release
