Namco's Tank! Tank! Tank! confirmed for US release

ttt1

While there weren’t many new products revealed at the Distributor Gala in Chicago that took place this past Friday, there were some new confirmations about certain games coming to the US that we only guessed might make it out to territories outside of Japan. One of those games is Tank! Tank! Tank! by Namco, which we have covered previously. Thanks to ttt3Lydon Allred at Mountain Coin we have some pics of the T/T/T setup that was present at the Gala. From what I’ve been told, the game was well received at the Gala although presently there is no release date for the game at this time. The game does include a motion base and the steering wheels look just like the ones we saw on Namco’s Tokyo Wars. We’ll be keeping an eye on this one and in the meantime I have added Tank! Tank! Tank! to the Arcade Release List.

never played tokyo wars before but this actually looks fun to play, does anyone know what hardware it uses? I wonder if namco anounces a new tekken, maxi tune and/or mario kart this year or maybe another nintendo tie in e.g. super smash bros arcade. its been nearly 4 years since TC4 came out and it did say on highway games that such as time crisis and maxi tune will be in development, if they make mario kart arcade gp 3 though it will have to have new features and tracks and be nothing like GP 2 thats a quick rip off of the original.

I prefer to see them (and other companies) coming up with original ideas as opposed to endless arrays of sequels myself. You can look at Razing Storm as a sort of Time Crisis like game, although it shares more in common with Crisis Zone.

I’m not sure what hardware this uses yet (could be the same used in Nirin) but if it has more depth to it than Tokyo Wars had then it will probably be a winner. The problem with TW is it only had two very short levels and so it felt more like a demo than a full game.

I wouldn’t say its a bad thing to make sequals to popular games but I think if they plan to do a time crisis 5 it will have to do something that wasn’t possible before rather than really nice graphics and gimicky features like the speaker that chats to you. the only thing that was good is swapping screens but the worst thing is the guns recoils often broken most of the time.

I agree though shaggy there are way too many racers and gun games thoughand they should be looking at things that were at the time impossible to do in the 80’s and 90’s due to technology limitations.

This will be the same pain in the ass as Tokyo Wars.

We didn’t learn about pnuematics with Wave Runners? Or for that matter Tokyo Wars? Pnuematics suck. Unless you have the traffic to support high maintenance games you will lose your ass buying this game. Why didn’t they put in induction motors? Compressors suck.
