Another great arcade game room neon sign

I caught this on the KLOV forum thanks to poster Zork40. He is also going to modify a license with PacMan on it that should look great.

It would be neat to do one for Tempest as well…

Soundtrack for Sega's Dynamite Deka EX (aka Asian Dynamite)

October 29, 2007

While I haven’t heard of Sega’s newest NAOMI based 3D fighter showing up in any arcades in the States yet(I know it’s shown up in some venues in Europe however), it’s still a game I hope to play soon – even if I have to end up importing it. I do hope Sega brings a brawler game to the Lindbergh platform though – brawlers were made for arcades and I miss seeing them and playing new ones.

Anyways, if you happen to be interested in Asian Dynamite or have a had a chance to play it and listen to the soundtrack, you soon will be able to own the said track. There are a total of 45 tracks (they must be rather short) and it goes on sale in Japan on November 29th for about 2,525 yen.

Auction clears surplus arcade games in California

October 29, 2007

[Via The Californian, pictures by Steve Thornton]

It’s hard to keep up with all of the different auctions that sell arcade games – generally it’s not newsworthy unless a lot of games go up for sale or something incredibly rare is sold. Well this news is about the former, with an auction in California on Saturday selling 492 games (which includes pinball tables).

This auction included some pretty nice games as well as rare ones such as Guns N’ Roses pinball and there is a picture there of a Black Knight pin. As usual any Pac-Man related games were quite popular but the article I came across didn’t mention much about any other arcade games. Perhaps if one of our readers happened to be at that auction they could fill us in on anything else the news article missed. ;)

Nike's Atari 720° inspired trainers

October 29, 2007

Looks like Nike want a bit of the Pro Keds arcade action with their Atari 720° inspired footwear. I haven’t personally played this arcade skate sim originally released in 1986.

Nike 720

KLOV says “Skate through a ramp-filled world doing jumps for points in this timed game. Buy equipment at shops or enter tournaments to win cash prizes. When time runs out player must “Skate or Die!” — run to the nearest tournament!”

Sound like fun to me!
